Ruth had an appointment with her doctor. As she waited, she struck up a conversation with the woman sitting next to her. In the course of their conversation, they discovered that they knew a mutual friend. As they were talking, a young mother returned to the waiting room. That woman's son was born without hands. Ruth told her that her son was involved with a service club that was working with one of the leading children's hospitals. They were raising money to fund a new device that would help people without hands be able to feed themselves.
