Roughly one generation has passed since the end of the Vietnam War. Thousands of immigrant Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Laotian families settled in communities across America in the aftermath of war. Effectively exiled, they created new lives in the United States and Canada, and established homes, businesses and communal relationships. Many were cut off from family contact until recently. Their survival depended on creating new lives in a foreign land. Now stories are beginning to surface about the struggle of these families to decide whether or not to return to their native countries.
