Queen Elizabeth's youngest child, Prince Edward, age eighteen, hopes he's tough enough to join Britain's commando force. Clad in army boots and fatigues, he recently attempted the Royal Marines' grueling assault course, "The prince did pretty well," said a spectator, "but he was obviously exhausted at the end of it all." The prince also suffered a bloody nose.
Being the son of the Queen didn't spare Prince Edward from hurt. But through the discipline and the hurt, he is being better prepared to fulfill his role as prince.
Being God's Son did not remove Jesus from suffering. Rather, through his sufferings he learned to be obedient to his Father's will, and because of his obedience, he fulfilled his role of being our great "high priest" and became the source of our eternal salvation.
