One day, the great German...

One day, the great German artist, Stenberg, was walking through the streets when he saw
a lovely dancing gypsy girl. He wanted to paint her and paid her to sit for him. She was
fascinated with the artist's studio, and asked about a painting of the crucifixion;
commenting that he must have been evil to suffer such a death. "No," the artist said, "he
was a good man, the best that ever lived. In fact he died for all."
"Did he die for you?" the girl asked. Stenberg had not made that decision, but with her prompting he did accept Christ. He chanced to go to a meeting for the Reformers and they wanted to see the painting of the crucifixion that had been hung in the gallery at Dussendorf. When in the gallery, a young aristocratic German count was deeply moved by the painting. He went to see it again and again. The count thought about what he could do for Christ, and became the founder of the noble pietistic missionary group known as the Moravians. His name: Nicholas Zinzendorf.
