Once in a village weekly...

Once in a village weekly newspaper there appeared an obituary notice of a minister of the gospel who had spent his entire ministry in a little-known parish where he was beloved by his people and even more by his colleagues in the presbytery. So respected was he for his deep spirituality that it was written of him: "He was not the type ever to be appointed president of any learned society, but he was the one man to whom every one who was in trouble turned instinctively. He knew whom he had believed, and in his company people were reassured concerning the things most surely believed among us all."
