None of us wears a veil that anyone can see. We've grown too sophisticated for that. Instead, we wear facial expressions that hide our true feelings -- masks that are our protection from letting others see our true selves. We do so because we are afraid that if others saw us as we are, they would reject us, our real needs, our pain, our true anger, our insecurity.
We may think we are even protecting others from our true selves by our masks. Actually, we are hurting ourselves and others because since they never see the real "us," they cannot love the real "us." In turn, we never let the real "them" through our veils. Our masks, become hardened in time, like a wall, and we have made ourselves prisoners. We all need to remove our veils which keep us from "beholding the glory of the Lord," even in the face of another person.
