Near the town of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the harvesters were not only few, they appeared to be nonexistent. Just before he was to harvest his crops, Tom Hauger died of a brain aneurysm. His crop lay in the field, and the future of his wife, Carol, and family was in jeopardy. Carol was sure that her crops would go to waste. But then, miraculously, neighbors came with ten combines and three semi-trailer trucks to harvest Hauger's 100 acres of soybeans. Hauger's nephew Todd said, "It's just a way of life. You help your neighbors out, you help your family out."
