A mother scolded her young son about his behavior. "I don't like the way you're acting," she said disappointedly. The little fellow looked at his mother sheepishly and asked, "Well, just how do you want me to act?" The time was not right for a condensed lesson in social deportment, so the mother simply replied, "I want you to act like a child who belongs to me." Although the little boy may have experienced some difficulty in gathering in the full import of what his mother was saying, we know exactly what she meant.
