The midwestern family on vacation...
Illustration
The midwestern family on vacation pulled into a gas station in a small town in middle Wyoming. This was the family's first experience in the wide open spaces of the American west. They had been overwhelmed by the treeless landscape.
As the father finished filling the gas tank and paid the bill, he asked the attendant if there was a nearby park where they might eat lunch. The young man was proud to tell him. "Yes, sir. We have a city park with tables and everything. It even has a lovely shade tree!"
