The law does not justify. We can never get to a point where we could say, "Man, I've given a lot to God, that must surely make it all square between God and me. I've got things all paid up now. I don't owe God anything else." The reality, of course, is just the opposite. What can you and I possibly give to God that would be enough to balance the scale? God gave you nothing short of his Son to die on the cross for you and me. And if we gave God every penny that we would ever earn throughout our whole lives, it wouldn't be enough to make things even. There's a song that expresses this idea. It talks about giving all to God. And the chorus says this: It wouldn't be enough, no it wouldn't be enough
