Ken Kettlewell makes this observation from his travels:
The little church in Alicia, Isabela, was a one-room frame building. No stained-glass windows, just boards on hinges that could be closed in the rainy season. No pipe organ, just a small portable organ that a young woman played, pumping the pedals with her bare feet. The Communion glasses were filled with Coca Cola.
The large church in Havana, Cuba, was filled the morning we were there. It was Father's Day, and they honored all the fathers present. The electric organ had fizzled out the week before, so they were using the piano.
The International Church in Brussels, Belgium, had people from all over Europe and America in the congregation. On the Communion trays, they put wine in the outer ring of glasses and grape juice in the inner rings. People could take whichever they preferred.
Wherever we have traveled, we have found the Church, and we have found devout worshipers, and we have felt the Spirit of the Lord. We can worship God wherever we are, for "God is a Spirit."
