I grew up on a farm. I would have preferred to live in the city. So, I learned little about farm work. I did learn, above everything else, that I didn't enjoy it. However, I also learned that our family got to see the whole process of what happened to the food we ate. We planted the crops; we watered and weeded. We cultivated the garden, and in the fall, we harvested the food. Mother then canned what we couldn't eat fresh. Later in life, I became a Christian, entered the seminary, and became a pastor. On too many occasions, with too many people, I wanted to do the seed-planting, water the seeds, weed out the members' "false, heretical" theology, and know that those in my care would inherit the Kingdom. I have learned, now that I'm retired, that God has put others here to begin, sustain, and complete the process. -- Keller
