Emphasis Preaching Journal

An expression which is often heard is, "That is a breath of fresh air." When a room is freshly repainted, when a new energetic teacher takes over the class, when the government heeds the voice of the people, someone will say, "That is a breath of fresh air." The disciples had been with Jesus for nigh on three years. They had watched him heal, listened to him teach, witnessed his scourging and death. Now, here was the resurrected Jesus standing in their midst. And wonder of wonders, he breathed on them a breath of fresh air -- the Holy Spirit.
