In this doubting Thomas recording...

In this doubting Thomas recording, which seems to be played endlessly, a message is lost. We tend to think over and over again of the act of faith on the part of the disciples who were gathered together. Then we think of the act of faithlessness of Thomas. We conclude, with John, that "you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name." I won't argue against this.
But there is something much more profound that can be proof of our faith and not reveal us as doubting Thomases.
What do you say when you meet a friend? "Hi. How are you?" Right? It seemed that Jesus, in being the Resurrection and Life, greeted people differently after his Easter miracle. He greeted his loved ones, "Peace be with you."
In our secularized Christianity we sound like doubting Thomas. We greet one another like everyone else -- like those who have no faith. It would seem that IF we were Resurrection Christians we would greet each other, PEACE BE WITH YOU.
