The dissolution of the Soviet Union presented new problems for that reorganized nation. One large republic, the Ukraine, refused to surrender its nuclear weapons to the new central government. The Ukraine believed that the only way the rest of the world would take their republic seriously was if they maintained control over those weapons of death. Most of human history is about power. But in Mark we witness that even the greatest human power is impotent compared to the ultimate power that God will one day reveal. -- Bowen
