Democracy is a disaster throughout...

Democracy is a disaster throughout the Bible! If it were not, we would be worshiping that golden calf that the people made. Even Aaron went along with the majority and he didn't get fired.
I worry about what synods vote on sometimes and even church councils can pass things that God might not be pleased with (and we don't fire the bishop or the pastor). What if it is a simple thing like stopping support for the starving people in one country in order to add a social room onto the church? I don't want to go into too much detail, but every pastor and church council knows what I mean.
The church I joined gives half their income to mission projects. They have been meeting in a storefront for 25 years. When someone asked the pastor when they were going to build a church, he said, "We are building one all over the world!"
I once heard a pastor at synod give a list of all the measures that were passed at former synod meetings. They were so stupid that the whole synod broke out in laughter. Then he asked, "And what are we going to vote on today?"
Is it an idol if we hang a saint's statue above the dashboard of our car? I see so many that it must have been voted on.
Look at the sacrifices the people made -- giving their gold jewelry for a fake god. What do we sacrifice for the true God?
The people were waiting a long time for Moses to come down and had finally given up and felt they had to do something. Do we get impatient for the Lord to act sometimes? Do we give up and do what we want -- as long as the majority will go along with it? Those whose family is starving may rob stores for food (after all, it is for a worthy cause!). Do we do unholy things for a worthy cause? When do we stop waiting for God to do something?
I hear so many (even good Christians) complaining about God not doing anything in a world wracked with starvation and pain and injustice. When we watch the evening news don't we wonder what God is doing for all the troubles in the world (not to mention our own troubles)? One of our actions is to call a committee meeting and discuss what we can do about the situation. We know that good intentions pave the road to --?
Do politicians sometimes sacrifice their honor and integrity to get elected so they can perform honorable service to God and country? This reminds us of that movie Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Mr. Smith had to compromise his ethics and morals in order to get elected so he could do something helpful for his country.
Be patient! Don't be in a hurry! Wait for God to come down from his mountain to save us.
