To this day, sitting on the Mount of Olives and looking at Jerusalem, still fills the eyes and heart with wonder at the "wonderful stones and wonderful buildings" Jesus' disciples saw long ago. But Jesus saw the buildings would be destroyed someday. Sure enough, Jerusalem has been sacked and rebuilt at least 10 times!
We all have rough times ahead, good times, too. Often our hopes and dreams may be torn down and built up again and again. The disciples and apostles are our great examples of faithful endurance. They endured to the end of their lives in faithful discipleship with Jesus. They will be saved.
We want to endure as well and Jesus is with us to save us through his strength and love which is stronger and more protective than any wonderful stone or building.
