An ancient king of Persia...

An ancient king of Persia, Shah Abbas, once disguised himself as a peasant so that he could move freely among his people. Since it was the Christmas season, the king decided to find one special person to whom he would give whatever gift he desired.
As he strolled about a small town, the king wandered into a public bath and stopped to talk with the keeper of the fires. Even though he had no idea who the stranger was, this peasant offered to share his lunch with him. After returning to talk with this man several times, the king finally revealed his identity. He than asked the workman to name a special gift he would like for Christmas. He replied, "I don't want any riches. Give me just what you've been giving me. Come back and sit down and talk to me."
During this Christmas season we are aware of God coming to us and living among us. He offers us the greatest gift of all -- salvation from our sins. So great is this gift, that he wants to give it to the whole world.
