"I just know that this is Jesus's way of keeping his promise, because I have kept mine." She was bubbling over with joy as she related the following story.
She had pledged $100 per month to her church's budget. Soon, there came a month when $100 was all the money she had. If she paid her pledge she would have to deny herself of several things she was accustomed to having. Also, it meant delay in paying a bill she owed. After prayerful thought, she paid her pledge to the church.
About the fourth day after she had made this decision, she received a check in the mail from a local store, reimbursing her for an account she had overpaid, which she was unware of.
Two days later another check arrived. This one was for teaching a night class at the local college which she had forgotten about. The two checks amounted to $178.
She continues to rejoice as she remembers Jesus's promise "Seek first the kingdom of God; ... all these things shall be added unto you." (Luke 12:31 KJV)
God has kept the promise he made through Isaiah when he said, "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah." Jesus was the fulfillment of God's promise.
