Time passes
Children's Activity
Object:
Teachers or Parents: Talk about staying up late. Perhaps your
children stayed up late to see the new year in. That may be a big
event in a child's life. Even if the children didn't stay up,
they know of adults who did. Ask them why. Why would one want to
do that? Time is something one cannot see or touch and yet we all
experience it.
*Talk about how many people use the new year to propose "resolutions" for their behavior or habits. Make a short list of resolutions with your children.
*Make up a daily prayer the children can say each day of the year to remind them of Jesus' constant presence. You might compose the prayer with the children. Help the children begin to memorize the prayer. You might also have the words printed on colorful paper which the children can then decorate. Have them take the prayer home as a reminder to repeat the prayer each day.
*Choose a famous prayer for daily use (check your church library or your pastor for resources).
