The real thing
Children's Activity
SHARING THIS WEEK'S GOSPEL THEME AT SUNDAY SCHOOL AND AT
HOME
Materials:
Heavy paper (poster board or card stock)
Clear contact paper
Magnets
Scissors
Dry-erase markers
Paper towels
Directions:
1. Give each of the children a piece of the heavy paper and instruct them to cut a cross shape out of it.
2. Give the children pieces of clear contact paper and help them use it to cover their crosses.
3. Hand out a magnet to each child and instruct the children to glue them onto the back side of the cross.
4. The surface of the cross can now be written on with a dry-erase marker and wiped clean with a paper towel. Let the children practice writing and erasing.
5. Tell the children that this board can be hung on their refrigerators at home and used to write down the things that they want to ask forgiveness for.
6. Tell the children that after they have asked God for forgiveness, they can erase the words from the cross.
7. Remind the children that only the REAL Savior can erase their sins.
