Object:
SHARING THIS WEEK'S GOSPEL THEME AT SUNDAY SCHOOL AND AT
HOME
Materials:
Pumpkin seeds
Fall-colored paper
Markers
Glue
Ribbons
Flax seeds or other small, darker-colored seeds
Green pipe cleaners
Scissors
Directions:
1. Give each of the children a piece of paper.
2. Give each of the children some pumpkin seeds and tell them to arrange the seeds on their papers in a circle with the points outward toward the edge (like the petals of a flower).
3. Glue the seeds to the paper.
4. Have the children make a second row of seeds and glue these, also.
5. Give the children a handful of other seeds to glue in the center of their flowers.
6. Give each of the children a pipe cleaner and help the children cut them in half.
7. Using one-half of the pipe cleaners, help the children form leaves.
8. Have the children glue the straight half on the flower as a stem and attach the leaf.
9. Finally, have the children write a Thanksgiving wish to the family or families receiving the donated food.
