Children's Activity
Materials:
Clean, empty baby food jars with lids
Glue
Colored beads in red, yellow, purple, green, white, and black
Jelly beans in the same colors, at least one of each color per child
Papers with the meanings of the colors printed on them (optional)
Red is for the blood of Jesus.
Black represents the sin we all have.
White is for the purity of our hearts after being cleansed by Jesus.
Yellow is the color of Jesus' light.
Purple represents Jesus as the almighty king.
Green is for life, because with Jesus there is everlasting life.
Directions:
1.
Talk about the significance of each color to Jesus' life.
2.
Give each child a baby food jar and lid.
3.
Have the children glue several beads of each color to the lids of their jars to nicely cover them.
4.
Allow the children to fill their jars with jelly beans, at least one of each color.
5.
Again, tell the children about the significance of the colors of the jelly beans. You may want to give them a copy of the meanings of the colors to take home and share with their families.
