Listen to God
Children's Activity
Object:
SHARING THIS WEEK'S GOSPEL THEME AT SUNDAY SCHOOL AND AT
HOME
Materials:
Clothespins
Wiggle eyes
Magnets (preferably sticky-back magnets)
Bat "bodies" (black paper cut into ovals)
Bat wings (black paper cut to look like bat wings -- one piece for both wings)
Bat "ears" (black paper cut into small triangles)
Glue
Directions:
1. Give each of the children a clothespin, bat wings, bat body, and a set of bat ears.
2. Tell the children to glue the bat wings perpendicularly onto the clothespins.
3. Instruct the children to glue the bat bodies over the clothespins. The clothespins should be completely hidden.
4. Help the children glue the wiggle eyes onto the bodies of their bats.
5. Give each of the children a magnet and have them glue it onto the backs of their clothespin bats.
6. Tell the children that bats use their ears to determine where they are and where they should fly. Explain that just like bats, we need to use our ears to listen -- but we need to listen to God.
