God's children
Children's Activity
Object:
Teachers: Jesus told his disciples to let the children come to
him. He instructed his disciples that for persons to enter the
kingdom of God they must do so "as a little child."
Get a white poster board. Have each child in your class place her hand on the poster. Outline each hand in marker or crayon. Have each child write her name near her hand outline. Children may decorate their hand outlines. The poster heading could state: "Let The Children Come To Me -- Mark 10:2-16." Display the poster in your room or on a bulletin board somewhere in the church so that others in the congregation can see it.
Parents: Your child helped class members create a poster with the outline of everyone's hand. Have some sheets of paper ready. Make the outline of your child's hand. Then on separate pages have your child make an outline of one hand of every member of your family. Your child can write family names on each page. Staple the pages together in a book form. Have your child decorate a special front cover. Title it "Children of God."
