Children's Activity
SHARING THIS WEEK'S GOSPEL THEME AT SUNDAY SCHOOL AND AT
HOME
Materials:
Fish bowl shaped patterns from stock
Construction paper (various colors)
Scissors
Plastic wrap (clear or blue)
Easter grass
Glue
Directions:
1. Tell each of the children to cut two fish bowl shapes from construction paper, using the patterns. Each bowl should be nearly the size of a full sheet of paper.
2. Help the children carefully line the two bowls up and cut a circle out of the center, making a construction paper frame.
3. Give each of the children a piece of plastic wrap cut to the size of the construction paper. This will be the "water."
4. Using colorful construction paper, have the children cut out fish shapes.
5. Give the children some Easter grass and have them place the grass on the plastic wrap to look like seaweed.
6. Next, have the children add their fish to the "water." Encourage them to be creative: fish can be partially hidden in the seaweed, small pieces of paper can be gravel, other sea creatures (starfish, lobster, and so on) can be added, and so on.
7. Give each of the children a second piece of plastic wrap and instruct them to cover the first pieces, sealing in their seascapes.
8. Help the children glue the plastic wrap to one side of their fish bowl frames then glue the other frame to the opposite side of the plastic wrap seascapes.
