Children's Activity
Object:
SHARING THIS WEEK'S GOSPEL THEME
AT SUNDAY SCHOOL AND AT HOME
Materials:
Clear plastic bottles, one for each child
Water
Food coloring
Oil or corn syrup
Glitter, beads, other materials to decorate
Hot glue or super glue
Directions:
1. Give each child an empty bottle. Have them fill it two thirds with water.
2. Allow them to add food coloring to the water to make it the color they want. (Have assistants help them screw the top on and shake the water to mix in the food coloring.)
3. For those who want, add glitter, beads, or other small objects to the mix.
4. Fill the rest of the bottle with oil or corn syrup.
5. Use hot glue or super glue when screwing on the lid to make sure it won't come off. (You may need adult assistants for this step.)
6. Have the children shake their new "wave bottles" to watch how the water moves. Talk about how water is not only beautiful but also an important symbol in our faith.
