The posture of prayer is not all that significant on the one hand, but on the other hand it says something very important about prayer.
In the Christian West we are most used to seeing folded hands, sometimes joined to kneeling at a bedside or in church. At times in some churches, one sees the pastor and/or people praying with hands and eyes lifted toward heaven. Many people kneeling and then lying prostrate facedown on the ground with hands outstretched is the posture for prayer.
