Second Lesson Sermons For Lent/Easter
The pastor of a village church has been given a high honor to judge the costume contest. First there will be a parade through town; the high school band leading in a "doo-dah" band fashion, which means no straight lines or formations: band members at times leaving the procession altogether to greet friends and family along the way. And then hundreds of children following in costume. This precarious honor is high risk, for the pastor knows that some of these children, barely recognizable to him, attend his church and are hoping to win one of the prizes to be given later at the fairgrounds.
