Cecil was my boyhood friend...

Cecil was my boyhood friend and wanted me to stay overnight at his place. We were standing on his front porch, and his father had said 'no' because our two families had been together all day for the city's annual picnic and marching band celebration. His father said such an overnight would be just too much "togetherness." My father and mother had said it would be all right; all right provided the McAllister family agreed. The key person was Cecil's father. Cecil said, "Stay right here," on the front porch while he went inside. Soon he was back.
