The first words that come...
Illustration
The first words that come out of most English-speaking babies are da-da and ma-ma, reflecting for them the most important elements of their very young existence. Likewise, the first word learned by the baby of a Greek-speaking family in Jesus' day would have been, Ab-ba -- Daddy. The infant seems to know that he or she depends solely on daddy or mommy. The infantile faith knows, too, that it depends solely (or soully?) on Ab-ba. -- Lintern
