Has anyone considered the feelings...
Has anyone considered the feelings of the fatted calf, caught in the middle of this family drama. Is there anything that the calf has to contribute to our understanding of this story? Perhaps the calf's prayer, as one of God's creatures, will provide the answer, from which even the elder son can learn. "Lord, these human celebrations always make me uneasy. They celebrate life, but feast up on a death. Up until now, it has always been the others. I cannot thank them for fattening me up to make veal. Why do I have to taste so good to them? Why did you make me so tender? What a fate!
