Guard the treasure
Children's sermon
Object:
a big key (You could make a large key out of paper,
photocopy and distribute at the end of the children's sermon
asking the children to color the key and hang it in their rooms
at home. Put the words of the verse on it.)
We could say this key is for a treasure chest filled with fine
and rare jewels. The key goes in the lock and the lock protects
the treasure.
The Bible talks about another kind of treasure. That treasure is the treasure of our faith. It is the treasure you learn about in Sunday school and at home and in church. It is the treasure of the wonderful story of Jesus and his love for us. It is like a wonderful treasure.
The Apostle Paul told his friend Timothy to guard the treasure of his faith. Paul wanted his friend Timothy to keep on believing
