"Keep on asking"
Children's Activity
Object:
Teachers or Parents: We can never overemphasize the power of
prayer with our children. They should be taught to take
everything to God in prayer and to keep on praying in all
circumstances. In today's Gospel message, we hear from Jesus the
importance of praying constantly and not giving up.
*Make a list of the things that the children are taking to
God in prayer at the present time. Make copies of this list for
everyone and ask them to pray for each other's concerns in the
coming week.
*Put the Lord's Prayer up on the blackboard or easel and go
through each petition, discussing what it means. If they have not
already memorized it, spend some time doing so.
*Ask the children to relate their own experiences with
prayer. Some may have had answers to their prayers that they saw
as God's response. Share your own experiences or those of others
that you know about.
Sunday school assembly opening:
*Sing "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and discuss what each
stanza says to us about prayer.
