CALL TO WORSHIP
Turn your hearts to God's decrees and not to selfish gain. Turn your eyes from looking at vanities; and you will find life in the ways of God.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Generous God, we have not always been generous and caring for the poor and the alien. We have not always been straight-forward in our dealing and have defrauded our neighbors. If we have not stolen, we have not dealt honestly and have even sworn falsely by your holy name. We may profit from companies that ignore the needs of their employees to the advantage of the stockholders. We have not been careful for the needs of the deaf and the blind and other handicapped people. We have not protested the judgments that defer to the great or are partial to the poor. We have much to learn about your holy justice. Teach us by the words and example of your Son Jesus. Amen.
