Reader 1: When Jesus and the disciples drew near to Jerusalem and
came to Bethany, to the Mount of Olives, he sent two disciples on
ahead, saying to them,
Reader 2: "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you
will find a donkey tied, and a colt with it, untie them and bring
them to me. If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, 'The
Lord has need of them' and they will be sent immediately."
Reader 1: This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the
People: "Tell the daughter of Zion, Behold, your King is coming
to you, humble and mounted on a donkey and on a colt, the foal of
Reader 1: The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them,
they brought the donkey and the colt, and put their garments on
them, and Jesus sat there. Most of the crowd spread their
garments on the road, and others...
