Have you ever wondered why there are holes in Swiss cheese? In the final analysis of things, it is doubtful this will go down as one of mankind's most intense curiosities, but there are some of us who are given to searching out such things. The cheese, referred to by the Swiss by its proper name, Emmentaler, is ripened by three different kinds of bacteria. One of them eats small holes in the cheese. When the product begins to rise, in the same manner as bread, the holes become considerably larger.

Now that we have cleared up the matter of the cheese, let us pay our respects to two prominent Americans whose combined efforts have provided millions of people with countless hours of entertainment. Leonard Slye, born in Cincinnati, and Frances Butts, who grew up in Texas. Famous Americans indeed! You probably know them better by their stage names; Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.
