One day Jesus sat in the garden with a friend. The air was still. The garden was quiet. Neither of the two men spoke. Suddenly Jesus closed his eyes. His friend became sad because he knew that Jesus was far away from him, and when Jesus closed his eyes to pray, he received a special power. Oh, how he wanted this same power -- more than anything in the world! Jesus' friend was very strong, but he knew Jesus had a special strength that gave him great courage. He wanted to know that secret! Yet he had never asked Jesus. The man thought to himself, "He would refuse me. He would laugh at me," and so the man was afraid to ask.

When Jesus opened his eyes, the man looked into them and saw compassion and love and wondered why he had been afraid. He knew Jesus loved him, but did he love him enough to tell him the secret...
