Good morning, boys and girls. I brought some beautiful autumn leaves with me this morning. How many of you have gone out sometime this fall and collected leaves like mine? (Let them answer.) I want to tell you a story about a little girl your age who loved to rake leaves in piles and jump in them. She also liked to collect beautiful leaves like these. Do any of you like to jump into leaf piles or collect leaves? (Let them answer.) It was a nice autumn weekend. The girl and her parents and older brother and sister went outdoors to rake leaves. They raked most of the afternoon. As they worked, the little girl made a leaf house. She used leaves to make rooms and doorways in her house.
