When we think about freedom, we think of our country. We even sing that our country is the "land of the free and the home of the brave." What is freedom? (Let them answer.) If I get locked in my room, I am not free am I? If I get quite ill and cannot move around, then I am not free either. Perhaps I have to go someplace where I don't want to go. Am I free? (Let them answer.) Of course not! We say that our country is "free" because we can do pretty much what we want to do. But there are some areas where none of us is free. That area is in the area of sin. Sin keeps us from doing what is right and it makes us do what is wrong. Sin is like a dark prison. No one can ever be free so long as we sin. Every one of us sins.
