Good morning! Did you know that we are in the season of Epiphany? Can you say Epiphany? (let them try) Pretty good! It is a hard word, but it is an important season. This is the season that follows Christmas and it is the time when people begin to learn who Jesus is and how he shows us the love of God.

Today, we are at the very beginning of Jesus' ministry. Do you remember us talking about John the Baptist in Advent? We learned that John the Baptist was the child of Elizabeth, a close relative of Mary. That meant that Jesus was a cousin of John the Baptist.

I don't think John and Jesus were close friends. Do you have some cousins that you see once in awhile but not very often? (let them answer) That must have been the way it was with Jesus and John. They knew about each other and were about the same age, and they...
